BRG Group and SeABank was awarded by ASEAN BAC

On September 06th, 2017, in Manila, Philippines, BRG Group and SeABank was awarded by ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC). Ms. Lê Thu Thủy - Vice Chairman of BRG Group and Vice Standing Chairman of BOD of SeABank is the only woman of Vietnam was granted Legacy Award. Besides, SeABank was also awarded “SME Corporate Social Responsibility”. These awards belongs to ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) in order to honor outstanding enterprises in the region.

ASEAN BAC was established by ASEAN leaders (HOSGs) at 7th ASEAN Leaders Summit at Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. ABA is annual award was firstly held in 2007 by ASEAB BAC in order to honor the corporate's contribution in stabilize macro economy with government and improve competitiveness of ASEAN business community in the world market.

In  2017, on the 50th anniversary of ASEAN, ASEAN BAC decided to add the special category named “Legacy Award” to honor excellent entrepreneur with devotion to promote the development of MSMEs domestically and regionally. Vice Chairman Ms. Le Thu Thuy has many achievements in leading BRG Group and SeABank to become the top enterprises in Vietnam. This special award is a proof of efforts of BRG Group leaders in particular and Vietnamese entrepreneurs in general in promoting business spirits, becoming the key to prosperity and sustainability of the country and region.

Apart from the business achievement, SeABank also launches many social activities for community. In 2011-2016, SeABank has launched many activities for community, contributing to socio - economic development in many locals across the country with the total budget of VND 30 billion. The bank also support many programs for protecting the sea and islands such as: sponsoring tvshow "Love for boundary, island of the country"; donating Fisheries Control Region 2 - Unit 3 and Marine Police Region 2, presenting soldiers and people in Truong Sa district; donating TVshow “Love for Con Dao”; building houses for soldiers in Truong Sa district...

SeABank also launched many annual charity programs such as: "Citizen Comitment" (since 2010), “Loving Spring” (since 2015), “SeABanker for the kids” (since 2015), setting up charity fund named “One day, One smile” with many activities to donate and present orphan children, underprivileged pupils, homeless people, old poor people, cleaning the streets and cetemery..

In addition, since 2015, SeABank also set up another scholarship fund named "Dream Nursing" from the welfare of the bank and donators to present scholarships for poor gifted pupils across the country. 

With this fund, SeABank continues to confirm the partnership and support children to develop their talent. At the present, the fund are supporting 27 poor pupils with VND 1 million/month/pupil until they finish high school and will find more pupils to support.

With its contribution, SeABank was awarded “SME Corporate Social Responsibility” by ASEAN BAC. This is the second time SeABank was awarded by ASEAN BAC. Previously, in 2010, SeABank is the only bank in Vietnam and South East Asia was awarded by ASEAN BAC  “The most admiring ASEAN corporate” in Innovation.

With meaningful social activities, SeABank was granted many prestigious awards by domestic and international organizations such as: "Best Bank for CSR Vietnam 2016" by Global Banking & Finance Review (UK); “Best Corporate Social Responsibility Corporate 2016" and “Best CSR Corporate ASEAN 2013” by Ministry of Planning and Investment; "Corporate with many contribution to society" by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry... In the future, SeABank will make efforts to contribute more to banking sector and socio - economic development of the country.
