Since 2007, charity golf tournament “Swing For The Kids” was co-organized by Vietnam Investment Review and Foreign Investment Agency (Ministry of Planning and Investment) in order to support underpriviledged students in learning. This year, SeABank and BRG Group will be the co - sponsor. This tournament begins in shortgun start from 12PM, Saturday on April 22nd, 2017 and attracts nearly 150 golfers. The awarding ceremony will be held at 6 PM on the same day at Club Ballroom of Kings’ Island Gold Course.
This is the 11th year of the tournament co-organized by Vietnam Investment Review (VIR) and Foreign Investment Agency (Ministry of Planning and Investment), co-sponsored by BRG Group and SeABank.
Chief Editor of VIR - Mr Lê Trọng Minh said: "In the past 10 years, through the tournament's charity activities, the Organizing Board has raised scholarship fund for poor students with excellent achievement in studying. There are nearly 13,500 pupils across the country that have been granted scholarships with the total budget of VND 11.8 billion.
Besides, the donators and sponsors have repaired schools in 40 cities/provinces across the country. This year, SeABank's scholarship fund named "Dream Nursing" sponsors VND 120 million.
The chairman of BRG Group and SeABank - Madame Nguyen Thi Nga said that being the sponsor of this tournament is a meaningful social activity. In the past 10 years, BRG and SeABank has always accompanied and supported for the tournament cause we also want to contribute to meaningful charity activities.
“We sympathied with the humane meaning of the tournament thus we did not only organize but also took part in many activities of the tournament", Madame Nga emphasized.
At the press conference, The organizing board grants the full scholarship for two students named Thào Seo Sì (the fourth year student of Thai Nguyen Agriculture and Forestry University) and Lê Văn Tú (the fourth year student of Hanoi National University of Education).
Each scholarship worths VND 10 million/year, belonging to the full scholarship program to support for poor students with excellent achievement or ethnic minority students. This is the fourth year these students get the full scholarship of "Swing for the kids" scholarship fund.
Previously, there were 2 other students to get the scholarship for the whole time at university, including Đinh Văn Học (National University of Economics) andNguyễn Thị Phương (Hanoi University of Public Health). These students graduated in 2013 and got stable job.
